Frequently asked questions
When did you first realise you had psychic abilities?
Like many people, I
did weird stuff all through childhood (played ‘dress-ups’ and wrote stories
about my past lives, chatted to fairies, the usual) and had no idea it fell
under the ‘psychic’ bracket until I was about 21 and began to seriously explode
open my mind… I’ve been refining my skills, training and knowledge now for eight
years.
Was it
something at first you wanted to hide due to society’s sometimes skeptical
view of psychics?
Sure, because the
whole notion of ‘psychic’ needs a radical face-lift and some sophisticated PR
work to bring it into the 21st century! One of my biggest goals in
this life is to make the concept of ‘psychic’ normal, accessible and glamorous
to a mainstream audience. First step? Ditching the word ‘psychic’! It carries
horrible late Victorian connotations. You can talk to practically anybody in the
world about using their intuition, gut feeling or ‘hunch’ to make important
decisions in life, but the minute you lean on terms like ‘psychic, ‘medium’,
‘New Age’ or ‘clairvoyant’, you alienate 85% of your audience. I say we rebrand,
repackage, reword and standardise the entire profession to make it useful,
practical and applicable to the average dude on the
street.
What do you
think the average person thinks of psychics today?
We’re poised on the
cusp of something very, very huge. Trend forecasters have been predicting for
years that The Wellness Revolution is going to be the next billion dollar
industry, which ties into many areas: holistic and natural therapies, eco-chic,
practical intuition and more. From my experience, 8 out of 10 people are
open-minded, curious or right into all-things-cosmic; the other two are so
brainwashed by narrow-minded scientific jargon, their parents’ beliefs or their
own personal fears, they’re not confident enough to delve into the mysteries of
the universe, so they follow the predictable pattern of “All truth
passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed; Second, it is violently
opposed; and Third, it is accepted as self-evident." [Arthur
Schopenhauer.]
What is the
reality?
The reality is that
every single human being is wired with the know-how to use their intuition.
There really are six senses – our ancestors used them without thinking twice
about it – but due to an influx of technology and materialism in the past few
hundred years, the world has divided into five-sensory and six-sensory people.
Bridging the gap, however, is extremely easy. If you open your self-awareness,
consciousness and intuitive abilities, you’ll find it very comforting – they
instantly bring meaning, reassurance, personal power and fulfilment to your
every day existence. I mean gawd, who wouldn’t want
that?!
How are you
doing things differently?
I am here to show you
how to put the ‘chic’ into psy-chic! I mix my prophecies with my Prada and my
past-lives with my peach bellinis, and have created a sexy-cool online ‘cosmic
lounge’ for the ordinary corporate Generation X-Y. We live in a world obsessed
with stilettos, MySpace, laptops, BlackBerrys, private jets and uber-glamour, so
why should the psychic industry be any different? Forget long-haired types
swaying in crushed velvet outfits, waving incense and telling you someone’s
going to die in a car crash. As a modern ‘psychette’, it’s all about slick
professionalism, fast-tracking people’s money and success, and wearing stilettos
while you chat with your angels (‘A-team’) on your way down the street.
Can anyone tap
into their psychic ability or is it more of a natural talent?
People always say to
me, ‘You’re so lucky to have this gift’. I hate the word ‘gift’. Fair enough,
not everyone is a virtuoso piano
player, but if they put in the hours of
practice, they wouldn’t be far off! I’ve simple reawakened – and ‘re-remembered’
– a bunch of primal survival instincts that are hard-wired into my cell memory.
You can too. There are a kazillion books to get you started in the ‘New Age’
section at Borders, if you’re interested – just go and see which one jumps off
the shelf at you. Or become a Psyched In Stilettos VIP member, of course, and
get regular cosmic updates!
When does
being a psychic come most in handy for you
personally?Oh my god. Where do I
begin? Sleep through alarm but wake up because an unusual voice whispers in my
ear, ‘you're going to be late'. Guess who's about to phone me before my mobile
rings on the way to work. Conduct a quick two minute meditation in the toilets
when feeling stressed. Clear out chakras while waiting in line at the bank.
‘Manifest' a car park out of nowhere when late for a meeting. Ease a headache by
quickly holding an acupressure point and applying a bit of reiki (energy work --
all of which can be done in three minutes at your desk with your eyes open).
‘Remove' an annoying ex-boyfriend who keeps calling by cutting an energetic cord
between us while driving home. Chat to my dead grandmother while washing the
dishes. Use Theta Healing to cancel out negative beliefs about self-image that
are holding me back; score exciting new job two days later. Ahhhh, bliss. :-)
